About Us

1954

Dover Roller Shutters was established in 1954 and was the original manufacturer world wide of aluminium roller shutters for use on fire engine trucks. It established itself as the premium supplier of roller shutters to fire departments and emergency services providers throughout the world.

1971

Vanguard Shutters Ltd was established in 1971 supplying roller shutters to truck body builders for delivery vans and trucks. Over the years Vanguard also developed products for architectural markets including steel and aluminium roller shutters.

2004

In 2004 Austral Monsoon Industries Pty Ltd, a privately owned Australian based multinational, purchased the Dover Roller Shutters business.

2005

In 2005 DRS acquired the Vanguard Roller Shutters business forming Dover Vanguard Roller Shutters Ltd (DVRS). The Dover Roller Shutters business was relocated to Vanguard’s premises in Coldhurst Street, Oldham, England.

2007

In 2007 the Oldham premises were expanded doubling production floor area and a new administration office was constructed. A significant capital expenditure in new machinery was also undertaken in 2007.

In 2007 DVRS acquired Force 1 Shutters a roller shutter emergency repair and maintenance business that operates in the Manchester area.

2008

In 2008 DVRS acquired the AGD Shutters business a manufacturer of architectural roller shutter products. Both businesses have been amalgamated into the Oldham premises.

2008 saw the addition of a powder coating paint line and rolling mills for Slat and Guide Track production.

2013

Our current most popular product the N35 Aluminium Roller Shutter was released, sparking huge popularity from various bodybuilders.

2018

A rebrand for the company is currently underway and two new vehicle roller shutter products are expected to be released this year, the Evolution Door and the WS-190. We are paving the way for a greener future with these new products. We are changing our company name to Dover Roller Shutters.
